Early weekend riser

So what does a perfectly sane person (some might challenge this) who wakes up before time on a weekend do? The obvious answer - reopens his age old blog and updates it. So you now know how this blog entry came about - Woke up early, done with FB updates, cant go back to sleep, no one online to chat - so here I am. Since the last blog entry and now a lot many things have changed. I stopped playing badminton, started playing again, broke one racket, stopped again, started again, broke another racket, stopped, started.. In the midst of playing badminton and breaking rackets, I played some cricket again. We reached the finals of a 40 team competition. It was fun overall other than when I was batting. I tried all batting spots with only one thing common - single digit scores :) Some things never change.
Speaking of cricket, India did finally manage to win the 50 over world cup. Batsmen around the globe collectively sighed in relief as it meant Sachin 'could' finally retire (the bridge between 'could' and 'would' could be 1 century away - again could). Not winning world cup would have meant Sachin playing cricket till his son made it into the team and thus pretty much owning all the available individual records in cricket (the one on highest average is happily married to a rowdy Aussie and thus unavailable). This would have been followed by the father son duo of Tendulkars owning all the tag team records within cricket. With no records in sight, all other players would have been forced into becoming specialized fielders (who wants to be a bowler anyway). And hence the collective sigh of relief from all the batsmen on the world cup victory.
And as a matter of small inconsequential coincidence, India's world cup victory coincided with my birthday - 2nd April. With all my friends glued to the television and the post victory celebrations, I had to wait for a week before belated birthday wishes started trickling in. Thank you all my friends. I don't have an iota of bitterness for this delay. After all India won the world cup and I sighed in relief as well, because I too have my sights on few of the records currently owned by the guy who could eventually retire someday.
So here we are at the end of the blog. Truckload of mindless stuff for all to go through. I will be back soon updating my blog when I wake up early again on some weekend, have no one to chat to, dont feel like updating FB and a few other similar conditions (the cumulative probability of which taking place is somewhere between 0.0027 and 0.0054 or simply put once or twice a year). Adios
